World Ozone Day

𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐎𝐙𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐘
World Ozone Day is observed annually on 16 September to raise awareness about the importance of the ozone layer and the need to protect it. The day commemorates the signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer on 16 September 1987.
The ozone layer acts as a protective shield around Earth by absorbing much of the Sun’s harmful ultraviolet radiation. World Ozone Day provides an opportunity to educate students and communities about ozone protection, responsible environmental practices and global cooperation.
