To raise awareness about the rights and responsibilities of consumers and ensure fair practices in the marketplace. This day highlights the importance of protecting buyers from unfair trade practices and promoting responsible consumption.
The movement gained global attention after a historic speech by John F. Kennedy to the United States Congress on March 15, 1962, where he formally recognized consumer rights.
