Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated to honour the contribution of Non-Resident Indians and Overseas Citizens of India to India’s development and global image.
This day marks the return of Mahatma Gandhi to India from South Africa in 1915, symbolizing leadership, global exposure, and national service.
The observance strengthens emotional, cultural, and economic ties between India and its global diaspora.
