Indian Army Day commemorates the day when General K. M. Cariappa became the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army.
This day honours the courage, discipline, and sacrifice of Indian soldiers who protect the nation’s sovereignty and integrity.
It instills patriotism and respect for the armed forces among citizens.
