Terrorism is a serious threat that affects peace, harmony, and unity in any country. In India, Anti-Terrorism Day is observed every year on May 21, marking the martyrdom of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. He was assassinated in 1991 by a suicide bomber in Tamil Nadu, a tragic event that shook the nation. The martyrdom of Rajiv Gandhi reminds us how dangerous terrorism can be for national security and for innocent lives.

Schools can observe Anti-Terrorism Day on May 21 with activities that promote peace, unity, and awareness about the dangers of terrorism. Here are some meaningful ways to engage students:

- Pledge Ceremony: Students and teachers can take an oath to stand against terrorism and promote harmony.

(𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗗𝗚𝗘:

We, the people of India, having abiding faith in our country's tradition of non-violence and tolerance, hereby solemnly affirm to oppose with our strength, all forms of terrorism and violence.

We pledge to uphold and promote peace, social harmony, and understanding among all fellow human beings and fight the forces of disruption threatening human lives and values)

- Awareness Rallies: Organize a march with banners and slogans advocating peace and non-violence.
- Debates & Discussions: Host debates on topics like "The Role of Youth in Countering Terrorism."
- Essay & Poster Competitions: Encourage students to express their thoughts creatively through writing and art.
- Educational Seminars: Invite experts to speak about terrorism prevention and global security.
- Film Screenings: Show documentaries that highlight the impact of terrorism and the importance of peace.
- Community Outreach: Partner with local organizations to spread awareness beyond the school.
