𝟭.Background and Rationale

Schools are not only centers of academic learning but also crucibles for nurturing socially responsible citizens. In today’s context, education must go beyond textbooks to instill values such as environmental stewardship, civic responsibility, discipline, and community engagement.

The Adopt-A-Road: School Edition initiative offers a structured platform for students to actively participate in cleanliness drives, waste management, and the upkeep of public spaces. By adopting and maintaining a road near the school campus, students engage in experiential learning that reinforces value education and community service, in alignment with national educational goals.

𝟮.Objectives of the Program

The initiative aims to:

- Foster environmental awareness and responsible civic behavior among students  
- Provide hands-on learning in waste segregation, ecology, and public hygiene  
- Promote safety, cleanliness, and public health in the school’s vicinity
