KISAN DIWAS CELEBRATION IN INDIA
National Farmer's Day DEC 23

SCHOOLS, COLLEGES AND NURSING COLLEGES OBSERVE A DAY OF GRATITUDE TO FARMERS

In a meaningful tribute to the backbone of the nation, educational institutions across the country observed Kisan Diwas with great enthusiasm, awareness and social responsibility. The celebrations highlighted the invaluable contribution of farmers to food security, public health and national development, while sensitising students to agricultural realities and rural livelihoods.

A DAY DEDICATED TO THE HANDS THAT FEED THE NATION

Kisan Diwas celebrations in schools, colleges and nursing colleges served as a powerful platform to instil respect for farmers and farming communities. Through creative, academic and community-oriented activities, institutions reinforced the message that agriculture is not merely an occupation but a lifeline of the nation.

INNOVATIVE CELEBRATION IDEAS FOR SCHOOLS

School campuses transformed into centres of learning and gratitude through farmer-centric activities. Students participated in poster making, slogan writing, skits and speeches portraying the life, struggles and dignity of farmers. Classroom discussions connected agriculture with nutrition, environment and sustainability, while school gardens and seed-planting drives gave children hands-on exposure to farming values.

ENGAGING PROGRAMMES IN COLLEGES

Colleges marked the occasion with seminars, panel discussions and exhibitions on agricultural innovation, food security and climate-resilient farming. Students organised debates, photo displays and social outreach programmes highlighting farmers’ contributions to the economy. Interaction sessions with local farmers brought real-world perspectives into academic spaces, fostering empathy and social awareness.

ROLE OF NURSING COLLEGES IN KISAN DIWAS

Nursing colleges observed Kisan Diwas by linking agriculture with health and nutrition. Awareness sessions on farmer health, occupational hazards, food safety and balanced diets were conducted. Students prepared educational materials on nutrition derived from farm produce and organised community awareness drives emphasising the farmer–healthcare–nutrition connection.

EDUCATION WITH SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

The celebrations went beyond symbolic observance, encouraging students to recognise farmers as frontline contributors to national well-being. Institutions used the occasion to promote values of gratitude, sustainability, community service and responsible citizenship.
