World Tourism Day – September 27
2025 Theme (UNWTO): “Tourism and Peace – Building Bridges Across Cultures.”
Message: “Travel opens minds, connects hearts, and brings the world closer.”
1..Purpose
To help students understand how tourism supports economy, culture & peace
To encourage responsible and sustainable travel habits
To celebrate the beauty of diversity and heritage
2..Primary School (Classes 1–5)
🎯 Focus: Fun & Discovery
Tourism Parade: Students dress up as famous monuments or traditional costumes (Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower, etc.).
Drawing / Colouring Activity: “My Dream Holiday Place.”
Show & Tell: Children bring postcards, photos, or souvenirs from a place they visited.
Storytime: Teacher shares a folktale from another country/state.
Travel Song / Rhyme: Sing a simple travel-themed song together.
3..Middle School (Classes 6–8)
🎯 Focus: Curiosity & Cultural Learning
Poster Making: “Incredible India” or “Sustainable Tourism.”
Tourism Quiz: Identify world monuments, flags, and tourist spots.
Mini Exhibition: Create stalls showcasing different Indian states or countries with food samples, costumes, and facts.
Virtual Tour: Watch a virtual tour of a world wonder (e.g., Machu Picchu, Pyramids of Egypt).
Speech Competition: Topic – “Why Tourism is Important for Our Country.”
4..High School (Classes 9–12)
🎯 Focus: Critical Thinking & Awareness
Essay Writing: “Tourism as a Tool for Global Unity.”
Debate: “Tourism – Boon or Bane for Local Culture?”
Photography Contest: Best pictures of local heritage sites or nature spots.
Travelogue Writing: Students write about their favorite trip or a dream travel destination.
Cultural Day: Invite local artisans, folk dancers, or storytellers to share their culture.
5..College Students (Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering)
🎯 Focus: Sustainable Development & Global Thinking
Panel Discussion: “Tourism & Sustainable Development Goals.”
Model Making / Exhibition: Eco-friendly tourism destinations and their features.
Field Visit: Local heritage site or eco-park followed by student presentations.
Entrepreneurship Challenge: Students propose ideas for local tourism start-ups.
Social Media Campaign: Promote hidden local gems under hashtag #MyTownMyPride.
6..Nursing / Medical Students
🎯 Focus: Health Tourism & Community Awareness
Health Talk: “Medical Tourism in India – Opportunities & Challenges.”
Poster Display: Role of nurses and doctors in health tourism.
Case Study Discussion: How international patients are handled in Indian hospitals.
Workshop: Communicating with foreign patients – language & cultural tips.
Volunteer Drive: Students guide tourists at nearby hospitals or health camps.
7..Campus-Wide Activities (All Levels)
Travel Photo Booth: Set up a corner with cutouts of monuments & maps for pictures.
World Map Installation: Students place pins on countries they wish to visit.
Cuisine Festival: Food stalls featuring international or regional cuisines.
Tourism Pledge:
