International Day of Peace – September 21

2025 Theme (UN): “Actions for Peace: Our Ambition for the #GlobalGoals.”

Tagline: “Peace begins with us.”

1..Purpose

To promote non-violence, tolerance, and global unity

To inspire students to become ambassadors of peace

To align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for a peaceful future

2..Primary School (Classes 1–5)

๐ŸŽฏ Focus: Kindness & Friendship

Morning Assembly: Short story on kindness or Mahatma Gandhi’s peace principles.

Peace Pledge:

> “I choose kindness, respect others, and spread smiles every day.”

Drawing & Coloring: Theme – “Peaceful World” (doves, children holding hands).

Peace Song / Dance: Children perform on peace-themed songs.

Friendship Chain: Students make a paper chain with kind messages and hang it in class.

3..Middle School (Classes 6–8)

๐ŸŽฏ Focus: Understanding Peace & Conflict Resolution

Poster & Slogan Writing: “Peace is Power.”

Role Play: Show how arguments can be resolved without fighting.

Peace Tree: Students write one act of kindness on leaves and pin them to a paper tree.

Peace Walk: March around campus with placards carrying peace messages.

Classroom Dialogue: Talk about bullying, inclusivity, and respect for diversity.

4..High School (Classes 9–12)

๐ŸŽฏ Focus: Building Leadership for Peace

Debate: “Peace through Dialogue vs. Peace through Power.”

Poetry / Essay Writing: “If I Could Bring Peace to the World…”

Peace Wall: Students write their vision for a peaceful world.

Guest Lecture: Invite a social worker, psychologist, or activist to speak on peacebuilding.

Peace Symbol Formation: Create a human chain forming the ☮️ symbol and take a group photo.

5..College Students (Arts, Science, Engineering)

๐ŸŽฏ Focus: SDGs, Global Responsibility, and Action

Panel Discussion / Symposium: “Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions” (SDG 16).

Street Play / Flash Mob: Perform at public places to spread peace message.

Peace Hackathon: Students design apps or campaigns that promote tolerance & mental well-being.

Film Screening & Reflection: Show documentary on peace leaders like Gandhi, MLK, Malala.

Social Media Campaign: Hashtag drive #PeaceBeginsWithMe with student-created posts.

6..Nursing / Medical Students

๐ŸŽฏ Focus: Healing & Compassion as Tools of Peace

Seminar: “Role of Healthcare in Peacebuilding & Disaster Response.”

Community Outreach: Visit old-age homes or orphanages to spread smiles.

Wellness Workshop: Stress management & mindfulness for caregivers.

Patient Care Pledge: “I will heal with compassion, listen with empathy, and treat all equally.”

7..Campus-Wide Activities (All Levels)

Peace Bell or Moment of Silence: Observe one minute of silence at 12 noon for world peace.

Peace Mural: Paint a wall with peace doves and quotes.

White Dress Code: Students wear white to symbolize peace.

Tree Planting Ceremony: “Plant a Peace Tree” as a permanent symbol.

8..Special Note

Schools participating in International Youth Day celebrations can be recognized as a “UN Designated School for Youth Engagement”.
