World Hepatitis Day July 28
Ideas for the celebration of 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗛𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗦 𝗗𝗔𝗬 (𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟴) in schools and educational institutions:
𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲: “We’re not waiting – One life, one liver”
𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀
1.Awareness 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 Talk
Objective: Educate students about Hepatitis and prevention.
Instructions:
▪️Science teacher or senior student gives a 5-minute talk.
Key points: What is Hepatitis, types (A–E), how it spreads, prevention, importance of vaccines.
Include a real-life story if possible for emotional impact.
2.𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 & 𝗦𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗮𝗻 Competition
Objective: Encourage students to creatively promote liver health.
Instructions:
Topic: “Healthy Liver, Healthy Life” or “Prevent Hepatitis”
Materials: A3 sheets, sketch pens, paints.
▪️Students draw liver diagrams, write catchy slogans.
▪️Top 3 designs are displayed or awarded.
3.𝗦𝗸𝗶𝘁 or Street Play
Objective: Deliver public health message through drama.
Instructions:
Students act out scenes:
▪️How Hepatitis spreads (unsafe water, unclean injections)
▪️Importance of vaccination and hygiene
▪️Keep it short: 5–7 minutes.
▪️Present in assembly or a classroom tour.
4.“Know Your Liver” 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝘇
Objective: Test and reinforce Hepatitis facts.
Instructions:
Teams of 3–4 students.
Sample questions:
▪️Which virus causes Hepatitis B?
▪️Name one foodborne hepatitis type.
▪️Can Hepatitis be prevented by vaccination?
Keep a scoring system; small prizes for winners.
5.“Liver Health 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲”
Objective: Build responsibility among students.
Instructions:
Students write and sign a pledge such as: “I pledge to maintain hygiene, avoid sharing personal items, and educate others about Hepatitis.”
Pledges can be displayed on a “Health Wall”.
6.𝗚𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 / Health Session
Objective: Professional insights on Hepatitis prevention.
Instructions:
Invite a doctor, nurse, or health officer.
20–30 min talk with visuals on:
▪️Types of Hepatitis
▪️Symptoms and consequences
▪️Importance of early diagnosis and vaccines
▪️Q&A session at the end.
7.“My Liver, My Life” 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 Activity (For Primary Students)
Objective: Simplify liver health for young learners.
Instructions:
▪️Students draw a healthy human body with a smiley liver.
▪️Use bright colors, stickers, labels.
▪️Teachers explain basic liver care in simple words: “Wash hands”, “Drink clean water”, “Get vaccinated”.
8.Hepatitis Fact 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Objective: Create a knowledge corner for students and visitors.
Instructions:
▪️Prepare charts or posters on:
▪️Hepatitis types A–E
▪️Symptoms
▪️Prevention tips
▪️Importance of liver
Display in school corridors or library.
