The concept of World Hindi Day was introduced in 2006 by the then Prime Minister of India, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵, to honor the first-ever World Hindi Conference held in 1975. This event is separate from Hindi Diwas, celebrated annually on September 14th to mark Hindi being recognized as the official language of India.
