International day of Girl child October 11

𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗜𝗥𝗟 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗗

𝐇𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘

In 1995 at the World Conference on Women, nearly 30,000 people from approximately 200 countries arrived in Beijing, China. It was the fourth such world conference. During it, the attendees developed the most comprehensive platform for advancing women's rights around the world.

In 2011, the United Nations declared October 11th as International Day of the Girl Child due to the advocacy seen around the world. The UN encourages increased activism.

𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐌𝐄: The theme for the International Day of the Girl Child 2024 is “Invest in Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Future”. This theme emphasizes the importance of investing in the rights of girls to ensure they can lead and shape their futures.

𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐍 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐋𝐒

Celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child on October 11th is a wonderful opportunity to empower and inspire students. Here are some ideas to make the day special in schools and educational institutions:

1.𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐏𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐒

▪️Invite Guest Speakers: Bring in inspiring women from various fields to talk about their journeys and achievements.
